Designer selected for Krušnohorský tunnel on Dresden - Prague railway line (according to information of the “Zheleznye dorogi mira” Journal)
The Czech rail infrastructure manager SZ (Správa Železnic) and Germany’s DB Netz AG selected the design contractor for a key component of the Dresden - Prague - Krušnohorský tunnel high-speed railway line in the Ore Mountains.

The construction of railway tunnel on the Elin Pelin-Vakarel has been started (according to information of the “Zheleznye dorogi mira” Journal)
In Bulgaria has begun the construction of railway tunnel on the Elin Pelin-Vakarel line. The 6,8 km dual-bore rail tunnel is the longest one in the Balkans and forms a part of the Elin Pelin –Kostenec railways line upgrade project.

In the northeastern China was opened a new High-Speed Line (HSL) (according to information of the “Zheleznye dorogi mira” Journal)
A new 107 km high-speed line was officially opened in northeastern China on 3 August 2021, linking Chaoyang and Linghai in Liaoning province.

The CPK, a body responsible for the construction of Poland`s central transport hub concluded a contract on technical and economical feasibility study on Katowice-Ostrava high-speed line construction with consortium chaired by the Egis Poland company.

48 train stops and stations to be renovated in Latvia (according to information of the “Zheleznye dorogi mira” Journal)
As a result of a tendering process to do the design, upgrade, or construction of 48 train stops and stations, Latvian Railways (Latvijas dzelzceļš, LDz) has awarded contracts to two contactors, the Latvian company GMGS-FIMA and the Estonian subsidiary of the German LEONHARD WEISS.

Meeting XXXII of the representatives of the Parties to the MTT Agreement on the subject “Improving the MTT Agreement and updating the MTT Tariff”
In accordance with the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2021, in the period from 29 June till 2 July 2021, the OSJD Committee (Warsaw) organised Meeting XXXII of the representatives of the Parties to the Agreement on International Railway Transit Tariff (МТТ) on the subject “Improving the MTT Agreement and updating the MTT Tariff”, which was held in a videoconferencing mode.
