The 39^th meeting of the Conference of General Directors (Authorised Representatives) of the OSJD Railways has opened in Warsaw (Republic of Poland) on 14 April 2025 and will last till 17 April.

On April 10, the Byelorussian Railway will host the 3^rd International Cargo Conference "2025. Railway logistics: current development challenges". Its slogan is "Joining forces for common success." For the third time, representatives of the railways of the countries of the Eurasian continent gathered in Minsk to discuss a wide list of issues related to the transportation of goods by rail and to work out the most optimal solutions for further work, taking into account the interests of all participants in the logistics process. The geography of the conference participants is expanding every year. This year, the event is attended by heads and representatives of the railways of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, as well as international transport organizations such as the OSJD Committee, the CSZT, the CCTT, representatives of transport and logistics companies and owners of rolling stock.

A meeting of experts of the Parties to the Agreement on the Use of Freight Wagons in International Traffic (PGV Agreement) (hereinafter the meeting) was held on April 2-4, 2025 at the OSJD Committee headquarters in Warsaw. The experts discussed the topic “Enhancement of the Agreement on the Use of Freight Wagons in International Traffic (PGV)” according to the approved Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2025. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the following Parties to the PGV Agreement, participating in the work on the topic:

On 12 February 2025, the headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in the Palais des Nations in Geneva (Switzerland) hosted a meeting of the delegations of the OSJD Committee and the UNECE. The delegation of the OSJD Committee was represented by Chairman of the OSJD Committee Mirosław Antonowicz, Chairman of the OSJD Commission on Transport Policy and Development Strategy Shukhrat Kayumkhodjaev and Lawyer of the Committee Sławomir Car, while the UNECE delegation was represented by Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean and Chief of Transport Networks & Logistics Section at Sustainable Transport Division Francesco Dionori.

From 10 till 13 December 2024, the OSJD Committee held a joint meeting of Plenipotentiary Representatives, which was attended by the Plenipotentiary Representatives of the OSJD Ministerial Conference and/or Plenipotentiary Representatives of the OSJD Conference of General Directors (Authorised Representatives) of OSJD Railways from the following countries: Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Bulgaria, Hungary, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Georgia, Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Democratic People’s Republic of

During a formal ceremony which was held at the Aprin Railway Station near Tehran, the capital city of Iran, on 21 July 2024, the container block train of Iran-China resumed its operation from Iran (Qom City) to China (Yiwu City) after these trains between the two countries suspended their service due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On 17 June 2024, a working meeting was held at the OSJD Committee between Chairman of the OSJD Committee Mirosław Antonowicz and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Kakabaevich Gurbanov. The working meeting was also attended by Head of the European Countries Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Batyr Allagulyevich Yusubov and First Secretary of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Poland (with residence in Berlin) Ovezgeldi Orazmuhammedovich Dzhumanazarov.

Session LI (51) of the OSJD Ministerial Conference was held at the OSJD Committee in Warsaw in the period from 18 till 20 June 2024 in the face-to-face format and was attended by the members of the OSJD Ministerial Conference from the following countries

The meeting of authorized representatives of the Contracting Parties to the PGV Agreement on updating the PGV Agreement, examination of amendment and change proposals to the PGV with regard to charge rates for use of freight wagons and bogies in international rail traffic (hereinafter called “the meeting”) was held at the OSJD Committee offices in Warsaw from 4 to 6 June 2024 according to the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2024 and decision on sub-item 2.2 of the expert meeting of the Contracting Parties to the PGV, held from 3 to 5 April 2024 in Warsaw. The issues relating to the adoption of draft Work Plan on Updating the Agreement on use of freight wagons in international traffic (PGV) for 2025 were also tackled.

As part of the work in the topical area “Improvement of the Agreement on the Use of Freight Wagons in International Traffic (PGV)” mandated by the approved Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Transport for 2024, a scheduled meeting of the Rate Calculation Working Group set by the Parties to the PGV Agreement was held at the OSJD Committee offices in Warsaw on 13-14 May 2024 (hereinafter, the Meeting).
