KTZ Express summed up the outcomes of 2025
KTZ Express – a freight traffic operator and subsidiary of the “KTZ NC” JSC – summarised the results for 2025. The company’s main achievements have been noted on international routes: for instance, on the International North-South Transport Corridor, the freight volumes have tripled as compared to 2024; on the Central Transport Corridor, the volumes of exported goods have increased by 71 %, and the volumes of transit goods have increased by 15 %.
KTZ Express accounted for 36 % of the total volume of container traffic in Kazakhstan.
Furthermore, along the Middle Corridor and on the route between China and Iran, the operator’s share in container traffic is 100 %; between China and Belarus – 83 %; and between China and the countries of Central Asia – 68 %.
Transportation time along the Middle Corridor has been reduced by an average of 2-3 days as compared to the figures of 2024. The delivery of goods from the Chinese dry port of Xiʹan to Baku takes 10-12 days, to the port of Poti – 15-18 days, to Istanbul – 20-22 days, and to Budapest – 22-24 days.
In 2025, KTZ Express introduced a number of new multimodal services. In collaboration with China Railway Container Transport (CRCT), it launched container traffic from China to Afghanistan. The operator provides a full range of logistics services for the goods delivered from Kazakhstan to the United States. Transport services have been organised from China to Poland and Azerbaijan, and from Türkiye to the countries of Central Asia.
In 2025, a number of investment projects were implemented. Phase one of the container terminal at the Port of Aktau, with a handling capacity of 140,000 TEUs per year, was completed. The commissioning of 10 more tracks at the Khorgos dry port has resulted in the increase of its capacity to 800,000 TEUs per year. In order to diversify the business, the aircraft company KTZ Air Cargo was registered. A joint venture, GulfLink, was established in partnership with AD Ports Group (Abu Dhabi, UAE).
In 2025, KTZ Express signed around 20 agreements with the partners from China, France, Austria, Türkiye, Hungary, and Pakistan, aimed at developing multimodal routes, expanding terminal infrastructure, implementing digital solutions, and improving the efficiency of transit transport. As regards the digitalisation of the transport process, a number of measures have been implemented domestically and in collaboration with the railways of China, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
