On 21 February 2022, a regular meeting 1-2022 of the OSJD Committee members was held using the videoconferencing mode.

The expert meeting of the OSJD Commission on Transport Policy and Development Strategy on the subject “Directions for the strategic development of railway transport in the OSJD member countries” was held on 16-18 February 2022 in the OSJD Committee in a videoconferencing mode.

In accordance with the work plan for 2022, from 25 to 27 January 2022, the 60th meeting of the OSJD-ERA Contact Group was held in the format of a videoconference on the subject “Collaboration between ERA and OSJD on the analysis of the relationship between 1520-mm/1524-mm and 1435-mm rail systems of EU and non-EU states”.

The millionth, in terms of TEU, container was dispatched from Chongqing’s Tuanjiecun station to Helsinki’s Vuosaari station under the regular container transit service provided by the UTLC ERA JSC, an OSJD affiliated enterprise.

The RTSB-RUS logistics company, together with the Novik Group of Companies and Maersk, organised the transportation of the first container train from the Chinese city of Zhengzhou to Kaliningrad along the land route through the border crossing of Zamyn-Uud – Erlian. Previously, only transit trains to the European countries ran through Kaliningrad, and only single containers with imported goods were delivered here directly.

On 8 December 2021, a working meeting of the delegations of the OSJD Committee and the Republic of Korea took place in the OSJD Committee premises in Warsaw.

The PESA Company and the EAD public transport operator in the capital of Bulgaria have signed a contract for the supply of additional 25 Swing tram cars. Under the three previous contracts, the Polish company delivered 37 such tram cars to Sofia.

Four 2TE25KM mainline freight diesel locomotives manufactured at the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (MC BMZ JSC, part of Transmashholding), have been consigned to the Ulan-Bator Railway under a contract signed in 2019.

On 3 December 2021, two trains departed from China and Laos to meet each other, therefore marking the official commissioning of the China-Laos railway line that runs in the terrain being rich of mountains, rivers and other natural obstacles. The opening of the railway line was timed to coincide with the 46^th anniversary of the foundation of The Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The Estonian state-owned freight operator Operail signed an agreement of intent with Stargate Hydrogen in October 2021 to convert 40 diesel locomotives into hydrogen-fueled locomotives. These locomotives will be used for shunting operations.
