The meeting of authorized representatives of the Contracting Parties to the PGV Agreement on updating the PGV Agreement, examination of amendment and change proposals to the PGV with regard to charge rates for use of freight wagons and bogies in international rail traffic (hereinafter called “the meeting”) was held at the OSJD Committee offices in Warsaw from 4 to 6 June 2024 according to the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2024 and decision on sub-item 2.2 of the expert meeting of the Contracting Parties to the PGV, held from 3 to 5 April 2024 in Warsaw. The issues relating to the adoption of draft Work Plan on Updating the Agreement on use of freight wagons in international traffic (PGV) for 2025 were also tackled.

As part of the work in the topical area “Improvement of the Agreement on the Use of Freight Wagons in International Traffic (PGV)” mandated by the approved Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Transport for 2024, a scheduled meeting of the Rate Calculation Working Group set by the Parties to the PGV Agreement was held at the OSJD Committee offices in Warsaw on 13-14 May 2024 (hereinafter, the Meeting).

The expert meeting of the Parties to the Agreement on Use of Freight Wagons in International Traffic (hereinafter referred to as meeting) was held in the OSJD Committee in Warsaw from 3 to 5 April 2024 in compliance with the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2024 in the field of updating the Agreement on Use of Freight Wagons in International Traffic (hereinafter referred to as PGW Agreement).

According to the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Transport Law, an expert meeting of the OSJD Commission on Transport Law on SMGS issues was held in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) from 2 to 5 April 2024.

The meeting was attended by experts from the following SMGS member countries: Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Hungary, Georgia, Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Republic of Poland, Russian Federation and the OSJD Committee.

In accordance with the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Transport Policy and Development Strategy, a meeting of the AWG on the statistical issues in railway transport was held at the OSJD Committee (Warsaw) from 19 till 20 March 2024, which was attended by the AWG members from: the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Republic of Latvia, Slovak Republic, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Estonia, as well as the representatives of the OSJD Committee.

In accordance with the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Transport Law for 2024, on 12-14 March 2024, the OSJD Committee hosted an expert meeting of the OSJD Commission on Transport Law on the SMPS issues, which was attended by the representatives of OSJD member countries from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Hungary, Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Latvia, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Slovak Republic, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Republic of Estonia, as well as of the Railway of Moldova State Enterprise and of the OSJD Committee.

During the period from 5 till 7 March 2024, an expert meeting of the OSJD Commission on Infrastructure and Rolling Stock was held at the OSJD Committee (Warsaw) on subtopic 5.2 “Wagons and Coaches” of subject No. 5 “Rolling stock for railways. Technical requirements as to its elements”, which was attended by the representatives from the following OSJD railways: Byelorussian Railway (BC), Hungarian State Railways Co. (MAV-START Co.), “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company” JSC (KTZ NC JSC), Lithuanian Railways JSC (LTG), Railway of Moldova State Enterprise (CFM), Russian Railways OJSC (RZD OJSC), Railways of the Slovak Republic (ZSR), Ukrainian Railways JSC (Ukrzaliznytsia JSC), as well as from the OSJD affiliated enterprise – Railway Research Institute (Republic of Poland) and the OSJD Committee.

In accordance with the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2024 under the subject “Coordination of the volumes of the goods carried in international freight traffic”, the meeting was held in the period from 26 February till 1 March 2024 (OSJD Committee, Warsaw) in a videoconferencing mode of the representatives from the railways and foreign trade organisations of the Republic of Belarus, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Islamic Republic of Iran for the coordination of the volumes of export, import and transit goods carried by railway transport for 2024 and the measures to ensure them (hereinafter referred to as the meeting).
