The 1000-ton “Kunlun” bridgelayer for the construction of the Fuzhou-Xiamen trans-sea high-speed line (according to the Xinhua News Agency)
The construction of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed trans-sea railway line (HSR) is in full swing in China. With an estimated speed of 350 km/h and a total length of more than 277 km, this high-speed railway line is the China’s first trans-sea HSR and the fastest trans-sea HSR in the world. The construction of high-speed railway lines at sea is associated with the use of a number of the most advanced technologies, especially in the construction of bridges and viaducts.

The first hybrid shunting locomotive has been delivered to Hungary from China (according to information of the “Zheleznye dorogi mira” Journal)
The first out of the two ordered shunting locomotives with a hybrid power plant has been delivered to Hungary’s freight operator Rail Cargo Hungaria, an OSJD affiliated enterprise, and part of the ÖBB Federal Railways of Austria holding company. The locomotive will undergo tests required for its certification and operational authorisation.

Summit of the International Transport Forum in Leipzig
From 18 till 20 May 2022 the city of Leipzig (Germany) hosted the Summit of the International Transport Forum (ITF), which was held under the motto “Transport for Inclusive Societies”. This year’s summit, which was chaired by the Kingdom of Morocco, brought together high-level representatives of ministries and other government organisations, commercial and industrial enterprises, research institutions and international transport organisations from around the world to discuss the issues of how to improve the transport connectivity in order to promote the integration processes in the regions – from local communities, towns and cities to regions on a global scale – and contribute to the achievement of economic, social and environmental goals.
