Construction of the Second Rail Track on Skrlveri - Krustpils Line of Latvian Railway Completed (According to Latvijas dzelzcels SJSC as of 4th February, 2015)
On 4th February, 2015 the Latvian Railway (Latvijas dzelzcels, LDZ) opened the second rail track on the SkrTveri - Krutpils line section within the largest project to date, worth more than 100 million euros, which will enable a considerable increase in throughput capacity, traffic speed and safety in the direction from Krustpils to Riga.

The Joint Meeting, held in the period from the 9th till 12th December 2014 in OSJD Committee in Warsaw, was attended by the Plenipotentiary Representatives of Members of OSJD Ministerial Conference and Conference of General Directors (Authorized Representatives) of OSJD Railways from the Azerbaijani Republic, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Bulgaria, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Hungary, Georgia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, People's Republic of China, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, Republic of Poland, Russian Federation, Romania, Slovak Republic, Republic of Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Republic of Estonia, as well as authorized representatives of OSJD Observers from Finnish Railways (VR) and German Railway JSC (DB), representatives of UIC and CCTT and members of the OSJD Committee.
The working results of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic (further on referred to as a Commission) were discussed during the Commission’s annual meeting held in the period from 7 till 10 October 2014 in the OSJD Committee’s premises in Warsaw. The meeting was attended by the representatives of OSJD railways: Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, DPRK, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Czech Republic, as well as Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic; Deutsche Bahn AG - OSJD observer; OSJD affiliated enterprises - South Caucasus Railway CJSC, Rail Cargo Hungaria CJSC, KоRail, Freightliner Group LLC, CTL Logistics JSC, CTM LLC, TransContainer JSC and OLTIS Group JSC; UIC and OSJD Committee.
150 Years of Railway Traffic between Russia and Cote d'-Azur in France
On 24th January 2015 at the railway station of Nice, a French health resort, a solemn ceremony was held dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the opening of rail traffic between Russia and Nice and presentation of new RIC-dimension coaches of FPC, that was timed to arrive for the first time in the composition of train No. 17/18 Moscow – Nice, which departed from Moscow on 22nd January 2015.

Minsk eröffnet neue Flughafenanbindung
Seit dem 7. November 2014 fahren auf der Strecke Minsk Passajirskii - Haltepunkt Minsk Nationaler Flughafen täglich fünf Zugpaare im Testverkehr. Für die Anbindung wurden moderne dreiteilige DP3-Die-selgarnituren der polnischen Firma PESA Bydgoszcz (angegliedertes Unternehmen der OSShD) eingesetzt. Die Reisezeit von Minsk Passajirskii bis vor das Flughafengebäude beträgt inklusive Bustransfer vom Haltepunkt Minsk Nationaler Flughafen ca. 70 Min. Fahrausweise für die Fahrt zum Flughafen werden an allen Verkaufsstellen und Selbstbedienungsterminals der BC ausgestellt. Außerdem können Fahrkarten auch direkt an Bord beim Zugpersonal erworben werden.
Neue Kategorie von Zügen auf dem Netz der PKP (nach einer Mitteilung der PKP Intercity S.A.)
Laut Mitteilung des Büros für Strategie und Produkte der PKP Intercity S.A. startet das Unternehmen am 14. Dezember 2014 den Betrieb der neuen Zugkategorie EIP (Express InterCity Premium), die auf folgenden Verbindungen eingesetzt wird:
• Warschau - Gdynia/Gdahsk/Sopot,
• Warschau - Krakow,
• Warschau - Wroclaw,
• Warschau - Katowice,
• Gdynia/Gdansk/Sopot - Krakow,
• Gdynia/Gdansk/Sopot - Katowice.
