The cooperation agreement was signed by Oleg Belozyerov, General Director – Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways OJSC, and Vladimir Morozov, Head of Byelorussian Railway, on 3 February 2021 in a videoconferencing mode.

On 10 February 2020, a consultative meeting was held on Lao People’s Democratic Republic joining the Organisation for Co-Operation between Railways. The Lao PDR delegation was headed by Mr. Viengsavath Siphandone, Vice Minister, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and Mr. Miroslaw Antonowicz, Chairman of the OSJD Committee, was head of the OSJD Committee delegation.

The world’s first 350-km/h high-speed freight train has rolled off the assembly line in China (according to the newspaper Renmin Ribao/People's Daily)
On 23 December 2020, following the threeyear intensive work, the world’s first high-speed freight train with a speed of 350 km/h rolled off the assembly line of the rolling stock plant in Tangshan, China. The train was developed by a research team led by CRRC Tangshan Co., Ltd. – a company specializing in the production of railway rolling stock. As compared to a high-speed passenger train, this train is significantly different in appearance - each section has two side loading doors of 2.9 meters wide, which provides convenient loading/unloading of goods.

Another phase in the construction of railway line between Iran and Afghanistan completed (press-release)
On 10 December 2020, with another phase in the construction of railway line between Iran and Afghanistan completed, a 140-km section out of the 225-km railway line between Khaf (Iran) and Herat (Afghanistan) was officially opened for operation, while the remaining part will be constructed in the next phase. The launching of the Khaf-Herat railway line was accompanied by the first freight train carrying agricultural goods.

Construction of an industrial facility for the production of high-speed electric trains has started in Russia (according to the information of the Ural Locomotives LLC)
On 20 October 2020, the Ural Locomotives Plant (Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Region) started solemnly the construction of the Russia’s first production facility for the manufacturing of the high-speed electric trains with a design speed of up to 360 km/h to be used for operation on high-speed railway lines. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev, Deputy General Director of the RZD OJSC Dmitry Pegov, President of the Sinara Group Dmitry Pumpyansky, President of the Siemens branch in Russia Alexander Liberov and other officials.

A new model of railway wheel has been developed in Kazakhstan (according to information of “KTZ NC” JSC and “Prommashkomplekt” LLP)
The acceptance committee, which assessed the test results of the solid-rolled wheels with curved discs made of steel measuring 2 for innovative freight wagons has completed its work at the Prommashkomplekt LLP (PMK, Ekibastuz, Republic of Kazakhstan). The PMK offers to wagon builders and operators in the railway market of the Eurasian Economic Union the first Kazakhstani certified wheel with an axle load of up to 27 tons.

Mongolia imports first freight wagons with 25-tf axle load (according to UWC RPC PJSC)
For the first time in the history of the wagon building in Russia, rolling stock with an axle load of 25 tf will be supplied for operation on the Mongolian railway network. In total, it is planned to supply 810 open-top wagons with an increased carrying capacity to Mongolia.
