On 20 October 2020, the Ural Locomotives Plant (Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Region) started solemnly the construction of the Russia’s first production facility for the manufacturing of the high-speed electric trains with a design speed of up to 360 km/h to be used for operation on high-speed railway lines. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev, Deputy General Director of the RZD OJSC Dmitry Pegov, President of the Sinara Group Dmitry Pumpyansky, President of the Siemens branch in Russia Alexander Liberov and other officials.

The acceptance committee, which assessed the test results of the solid-rolled wheels with curved discs made of steel measuring 2 for innovative freight wagons has completed its work at the Prommashkomplekt LLP (PMK, Ekibastuz, Republic of Kazakhstan). The PMK offers to wagon builders and operators in the railway market of the Eurasian Economic Union the first Kazakhstani certified wheel with an axle load of up to 27 tons.

For the first time in the history of the wagon building in Russia, rolling stock with an axle load of 25 tf will be supplied for operation on the Mongolian railway network. In total, it is planned to supply 810 open-top wagons with an increased carrying capacity to Mongolia.

On 15 December 2020, a working meeting of the Chairman of the OSJD Committee Miroslaw Antonowicz and the Secretary General of OTIF Wolfgang Küpper took place in a videoconferencing format. The meeting was also attended by Lawyer of the OSJD Committee Slawomir Car and Head of Legal Department of OTIF Aleksandr Kuzmenko.

The joint meeting, organised by the OSJD Committee from 1 till 4 December 2020 in a videoconferencing mode, was attended by the Plenipotentiaries of the Members of the OSJD Ministerial Conference and / or Plenipotentiaries of the Members of the Conference of General Directors (Authorized Representatives) of OSJD Railways representing the following countries:

The meeting of the OSJD Commission on Transport Law on SMGS issues, organised by the OSJD Committee in the period from 20 till 23 October 2020 in a videoconferencing mode, was attended by the representatives of the OSJD members – SMGS participants from the following countries:

The annual meeting of the OSJD Commission on Infrastructure and Rolling Stock, that took place at the OSJD Committee premises (Warsaw) with the use of the videoconference mode on 9-10 November 2020, summed up the working results of the Commission in the reporting period and considered the objectives and plans for the following period.

It is a pleasure for me to welcome all of you in my new status – Chairman of the Committee of the Organisation for Cooperation between Railways.

A scheduled meeting of the OSJD Committee’s members took place on 12 October 2020. The meeting had a mixed format, with some members physically present at the OSJD Committee in Warsaw and others attending virtually through a videoconferencing system. The participating members of the Committee represented a total of 22 OSJD countries.
