On 20 April 2026, XL anniversary meeting of the Conference of General Directors (Authorised Representatives) of the OSJD railways (CGD) began in Astana and will continue until 24 April.

In 2026, the Organisation for Co-Operation between Railways marks the 70^th anniversary of its establishment. It is significant that this year XL anniversary CGD meeting is being held in the Republic of Kazakhstan, where the main international railway routes on the Eurasian continent intersect in the direction of North – South and East – West, and where rail transport is actively developing, forming the backbone of the transport system not only within the country but also across the region as a whole.

Within the framework of the agenda the participants of the CGD meeting will discuss the results of work for 2025 of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic, on Passenger Traffic, on Infrastructure and Rolling Stock, OSJD Permanent Working Groups on Coding and Information Technology, on Finance and Accounting.

The following issues will also be addressed:

- the progress of mutual accounting and the mechanism of repayment of debts between railways;

- working results of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the issues of vocational education/training in the field of railway traffic;

- the Report on the OSJD Activities for 2025;

- the OSJD Work Programme for 2027 and subsequent years;

- the OSJD Committee Budget (final for 2026 and preliminary for 2027);

- granting the status of an OSJD affiliated enterprise;

- preliminary agenda, date and venue of meeting XLI of the CGD.
