In 2026, the Organisation for Cooperation between Railways celebrates its 70^th anniversary. It is significant that this year, the 40^th anniversary meeting of the Conference of General Directors (Authorized Representatives) of OSJD Railways (CGD) is being held in the Republic of Kazakhstan – the country, located on the crossroads of major international railway routes on the Eurasian continent in the North-South and East-West directions, and where railway transport is actively developing, making up the backbone of the transport system not only in the country but also in the region as a whole.

As part of the agenda of the 40^th CGD anniversary meeting, to be held from 20 till 24 April 2026 in Astana, participants will review the work progress for 2025 of the OSJD Commissions on Freight Traffic, on Passenger Traffic, on Infrastructure and Rolling Stock, and of the OSJD Permanent Working Groups on Coding and IT, and on Finance and Accounting.

The following issues are to be also addressed:

- progress of mutual accounting and the mechanism for repaying debts between railways;

- work progress of the Ad Hoc Working Group on vocational education/training in the field of railway transport;

- the Report on OSJD activities for 2025;

- the OSJD Work Programme for 2027 and subsequent years;

- the OSJD Committee Budget (final for 2026 and preliminary for 2027);

- granting the status of an OSJD affiliated enterprise;

- preliminary agenda, date and venue of the 41^st CGD meeting.
