Final Meeting of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic (press release)
In accordance with the approved Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2025, the OSJD Committee (Warsaw) hosted the final meeting of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic (Commission III) from 14 till 17 October 2025. The agenda included a presentation and a summary of the works carried out within the framework of OSJD Commission III over the past period, as well as the identification of the tasks for the next year on the following subjects:
“Improving the Agreement on the Unified Transit Tariff (ETT) and updating the ETT Tariff”;
- “Improving the Agreement on the International Railway Transit Tariff (MTT) and updating the MTT Tariff”;
- “Improving the Agreement on the Use of Freight Wagons in International Traffic (PGW)”;
- “Improving the Agreement on the carriage of containers as part of container trains in international traffic”;
- “Coordination of international freight traffic volumes”;
- “Updating the Harmonized Nomenclature of Goods (GNG)”;
- “Updating the List of Freight Stations of OSJD Railways”;
- “Coordination of freight train timetables in OSJD international railway traffic”;
- “Organisation of transportation of containers and goods in international traffic using the CIM/SMGS consignment note”;
- “Organisation of mail delivery in containers”;
- “Organisation of multimodal, combined, and intermodal transportation in international traffic”.
The meeting participants were informed about the decisions taken at meeting XXXIX of the Conference of General Directors (Authorized Representatives) of OSJD Railways (14-17 April 2025, OSJD Committee, Warsaw), including those related to the issues within the competence of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic, as well as of session LII of the OSJD Ministerial Conference (10-13 June 2025, Qingdao, People's Republic of China).
The meeting participants also agreed on a deadline (by 11 February 2026) for the working staff of Commission III for preparing a draft Report on the “Progress of Work of the OSJD Commission on Freight Traffic for 2025”, taking into account the relevant data and information provided by the railways of the OSJD member countries and concerned OSJD affiliated enterprises. This draft Report will be submitted for consideration by meeting XL of the Conference of General Directors (20-24 April 2026, Republic of Kazakhstan).
Meanwhile, a draft decision of CGD meeting XL on the issues within the competence of Commission III and a draft Work Plan of Commission III for 2026 were also reviewed and agreed upon.
