RZD Holding to help build a railway line in Mongolia
On 3 December 2019, the acting Director General of the “RZD International” LLC, Sergey Stolyarov, and Head of the “Ulan-Bator Railway” JSC, Damdinsuren Jigjidnyamaa, signed a contract in Moscow for the provision of technical consulting services for the construction of the new railway line Tavan- Tolgoi - Zuunbayan in Mongolia. The document was signed in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, and the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Ukhnaa Khurelsukh.

90% of goods are delivered in containers by rail from China to EU via Poland (according to the press service of PKP LHS)
The participants in the III-rd Railway Economic Forum, held in Krakow (Poland) on 10 September 2019, noted that an increasing number of transport companies and freight forwarders are showing their interest in carrying containers from Asia to Europe by rail. This was stated in the speeches of the representatives of government bodies, railways, freight forwarders, consignors and consignees from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Poland, Ukraine, as well as the OSJD Committee.

The first container train from Turkmenistan to China proceeded through Kazakhstan (according to the press service of “KTZ NC” JSC)
On October 24, the first container train departed from the station of Kelif (Turkmenistan) for China, which transited through the territory of Kazakhstan following the route Kelif - Serkhetyak - Bolashak - Altynkol - Khorgos - Qingdao.

Afghanistan and Turkmenistan started the construction of a new railway line in the province of Faryab (according to ARA and the Turkmendemiryollary Agency)
On July 25, a solemn ceremony was held in the village of Akina in the Faryab province of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan dedicated to the opening of the 10-km railway section, which was built with the support of the Government of Turkmenistan, as well as the laying the first joint in the railway line to be newly constructed between Akina and Andkhoy with a length of 35 km.
