On 2 July 2026, the OSJD Committee hosted a meeting between the delegations from the OSJD Committee and from the Shanghai Institute of Technology (SIT) (People’s Republic of China).
OSJD Committee Chairman Mirosław Antonowicz welcomed the guests and briefly informed them of the Organisation’s main areas of activities and the achievements over the 70 years of the OSJD’s evolution, as well as the decisions adopted by the OSJD’s governing bodies during the 40th anniversary meeting of the Conference of General Directors (Authorised Representatives) of OSJD Railways (20-24 April, Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan) and the 53rd session of the OSJD Ministerial Conference (9-12 June, Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan).
Mikhail Vsevolozhskyi, Deputy Chairman of the OSJD Committee, briefed the guests on the Organisation’s activities aimed at developing international railway traffic in the Eurasian space, including the improvement of transport legislation, work in the field of vocational education and training in the field of international railway transport, and other issues.
Shukhrat Kayumkhodzjaev, Chairman of the OSJD Commission on Transport Policy and Development Strategy, addressed the issues related to the development of the OSJD’s 13 railway transport corridors, the simplification of border-crossing procedures, ecology and environmental protection in railway transport, and other subjects.
Professor Guo Quinsong, Senior Executive who headed the delegation from the Shanghai Institute of Technology, provided an overview of the Institute’s activities and its specialist training programmes, having pointed out, that SIT was interested in participating in the OSJD activities as an OSJD affiliated enterprise.
The parties discussed the opportunities for deeper cooperation between SIT and OSJD on the key issues, including vocational training and education of personnel in the field of international railway transport.
