Expert meeting on the subject “Directions for the strategic development of railway transport in OSJD member countries” (according to information provided by the working staff of the OSJD Commission on Transport Policy and Development Strategy)
According to the Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Transport Policy and Development Strategy, from 6 till 8 February 2024, an expert meeting was held at the OSJD Committee (Warsaw) on the subject “Directions for the strategic development of railway transport in OSJD member countries”, which was attended by the representatives of the OSJD member countries from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Georgia, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Lithuania, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Slovak Republic, Republic of Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Republic of Estonia.
Moreover, representatives of the Railway of Moldova State Enterprise, Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) and the OSJD Committee were present.
As part of the approved agenda, the meeting participants provided their presentations and information on the areas of strategic development of railways and on the reforms in the railway transport of the OSJD member countries with their subsequent publication on the OSJD website.
The participants in the expert meeting reviewed and agreed on the draft Work Plan of the OSJD Commission on Transport Policy and Development Strategy for 2025 on the subject “Directions for the strategic development of railway transport in the OSJD member countries”, as well as the draft Work Programme for 2026 and subsequent years in this area.
