A train from China to Germany with anti-epidemic protection means (according to the press service of RZD OJSC)
A container train of fifty 40-foot containers departed from Wuhan on 28 March 2020. On 1 April at the Kazakhstan border station with China, Dostyk, they were reloaded onto broad-gauge flat wagons, after which the train proceeded in transit through the territory of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus along the base route of the “UTLC - Eurasian Railway Alliance” company (UTLC ERA, an OSJD affiliated enterprise) with scheduled arrival in Germany on 12 April.
The train delivered 166.4 tons of antiepidemic protective equipment from China to Europe, including 19 containers fully loaded with medical face masks.
The containers delivered by the train were also loaded with automobile parts, electronics, telecommunications fiber optics and consumables to ensure the repair of railway infrastructure. After the train arrival at its destination point at Duisburg station (Germany), the goods will then be forwarded to their consignees in the European Union countries.
