The fast-speed express train was launched as part of the state policy for the sustainable development of the transport infrastructure of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This initiative is also of great importance for the implementation of policies to meet the social requirements of the population, as well as the expansion of transport links between the cities of Baku, Ganja and the districts of the Republic along the route.

The fast-speed double-decker train runs daily on the route Baku - Ganja - Baku. Capable of reaching a speed of up to 130-135 km/h, the train covers the distance between the two cities of about 360 km in 4 hours and 15 minutes. In the future, it is planned to modernise tracks, build fences, construct safe crossings, thereby creating conditions for increasing speed and further reducing the travel time.

The train stops at Balajary, Yevlakh and Goran stations. The multiple unit composed of four double-decker coaches is fitted with 367 seats, including the first class (9 seats), business class (62 seats) and the ‘standard’ class (296 seats). Each coach is fitted with an individual washroom and lavatory unit and a cooling device for drinking water, as well as vending machines. In the front of the first-class and business-class coaches there are small kitchen buffets, where passengers are offered light snacks. The coaches are provided with wireless Internet connection (Wi-Fi).

Tickets for travelling on the train can be purchased at the railway ticket offices, as well as via the Internet on the AZD (ADY) Website.
