At the meeting, the parties reviewed the most important projects implemented in the field of maritime and railway transport.

The participants were informed in detail by the General Director of the BMMTP CJSC Talekh Ziyadov, who was head of the Azerbaijani delegation, about the work of the New Port of Baku located in the populated area of Alyat (Azerbaijan) and about the existing ferry terminal, general cargo berth, a Ro-Ro berth, a berth for loading and unloading goods onto/from railways, various administrative buildings, customs warehouse areas, open storage areas, warehouses, container yards, railway and road access ways to the berths, Ro-Ro ramps, as well as buildings for the delivery of heavy loads and spaces with facilities for cargo vehicles.

The new location of the port is connected with the existing highways and railway tracks, ensuring its reliable and fast connection to the land transport arteries.

In addition, the creation of the Free Economic Zone in the port has ensured its role as the main logistics center in the entire region.

During the meeting, a film was shown about the Azerbaijani Railways and about the international competitive transport corridors passing through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the ongoing reforms in the country to further develop the railway transport, which is one of the priorities in promoting the development of those sectors which are not associated with the extraction and processing of oil. Detailed information was also provided on the terminal complex in Astara near the Azerbaijani-Iranian border, the construction of which is carried out by the Azerbaijani Railways CJSC under a lease agreement for a period of 25 years. The terminal complex is located on the territory of Iran on 35 hectares of land at a distance of 1.4 km from the Azerbaijani- Iranian border. The complex consists of 4 terminals: general cargo, container, grain and oil.

Jakub Styczeń, in his turn, noted that in recent years, economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland has reached a new qualitative level, and therefore the need for the development of transport cooperation has increased. He spoke in detail about the role of Euroterminal in the development of container traffic along the route of the New Silk Road from China to Western Europe.

The meeting participants visited a container site furnished with two cranes, where they became more familiar with the process of handling and storing of containers, cell materials and technical oils, and visited the open sites for storing bulk cargo, such as coal, coke, salt, iron ore and other raw materials. The delegates also inspected the process of complex customs clearance of goods in the import and export modes, for which a special agency was established on the terminal territory.

At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the prospects for further cooperation expansion and outlined concrete steps for their implementation.
