Operation of KZD new high-speed lines commissioned (according to www.china-railway.com.cn)
At the initial stage of operation of this line, it is envisaged to operate 20 pairs of trains at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It is expected that the volume of passenger traffic will reach 8 million passengers transported annually.
As an essential part of the Programme for the mid-term development of the railway network of the country, the high-speed line Harbin - Chichikar is deemed to be a high-speed main railway line connecting the cities of Harbin, Daqing and Chichikar. By means of the high-speed line Harbin - Dalian, this line is connected with the Pan-Chinese network of high-speed and fast railways. The launch of this line's operation is of great importance for higher quality of services rendered to passengers, improvement of the railway network and acceleration of economic development in the north-eastern part of the country.
High-speed line Hefei — Fuzhou
This high-speed line was put into operation on 28 June 2015, as a result of which the time for trains travelling between Hefei and Fuzhou has reduced to four hours from 8 hours needed earlier, and the travelling time for trains Beijing - Fuzhou has become 8 hours as compared to 10 and more hours required earlier.
The high-speed line Hefei - Fuzhou, with 850 kilometers of total length, is provided with 24 stations and runs across the provinces of Anhui, Jiangxi and Fujian. The train speed will reach 300 kilometers per hour at the initial stage of the line's operation.
The construction of this high-speed line began in 2010, and in March 2015, trimming operations and tests were commenced with trial runs to be performed. From 1 July 2015, 54 pairs of trains are operated daily on the line.
To the southward, this line reaches the city of Fuzhou and to the northward, it is connected with the high-speed line Beijing - Guangzhou, as a result of which a new high-speed line Beijing - Fuzhou was formed which became the main part of the network of high-speed railways of the country. Along this line, a great number of sightseeing places are located, attracting multiple tourists. With the launch of this line, the traffic capacity has significantly increased in the region, which as a consequence, will promote the development of tourism and economy.
