By 2023, more than 80 % railway freight traffic between Russia and Kazakhstan will be managed electronically.
On 18 August 2021, General Director – Chairman of the Board of RZD OSJC Oleg Byelozerov and Chairman of the Management Board of KTZ NC JSC Nurlan Sauranbayev, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin and the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, signed a roadmap for activation of transition into managing freight traffic with the use of electronic documents with an electronic signature.
The roadmap-related activities will involve cooperation with consignors and consignees aimed at popularisation of this technology.
In particular, it is planned to organise working consultations with the concerned ministries and agencies on the conditions of conducting transportation with the use of legally significant electronic documents.
The use of the roadmap should result in the increase in the level of international loaded and empty cars transportation with the use of the paperless technology up to 80 % in 2022 and in the case of transit loaded and empty cars transportation between EAEC member countries – up to 50 % in 2022.
The roadmap use will also include test transportation of export goods with the use of the paperless technology from the Republic of Kazakhstan into third countries with transit via Russia.
