New system of phyto-sanitary control at Hrubieszów LHS station (according to the PKP LHS LLC)
The heart of the system is a mobile platform with a wheelbase of approx. 7.5 m, used to service wagons on two adjacent tracks. It provides a safely collection of samples of goods delivered from Ukraine, Russia and the Central Asian countries. Thanks to this system, we can facilitate the work of state services and our employees, improve the control procedures and thus increase the capacity of the line, - says Chairman of the Board of PKP LHS LLC, Zbigniew Tracichleb.
The platform moves over the wagons standing on the tracks and stops over some of them. Inspectors working on the platform, climb onto the wagons by means of a gangway, and then can safely take samples of goods through cargo hatches. After collecting the necessary number of samples, the gangway is raised and the platform moves to the next wagon.
The system is controlled from desktops equipped with necessary security features. It is adapted to service all types of covered wagons with the upper loading system. The platform is completely roofed, its width is 16 m and height - 8 m. The length of the tracks for its movement is 950 m. The system was approved for use in February 2018.
On 14 March 2018 in Warsaw, during the international conference “South-West Route”, PKP LHS concluded an agreement with the representatives of railways from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran and Ukraine regarding the creation of a new transport corridor, which is 2-3 times faster than the sea route and about 1000 km shorter than the alternative land route. Thanks to the new corridor “South-West Route", Polish importers and exporters will be able to trade more easily with Iran and India.
